Brody turns 3!!

My little nephew wanted a Backyardigans cake and would not accept anything else! I kept trying to tease him that I was going to make a barbie cake for his birthday but he would always so "no ardigans"!! He could never say it quite right. After the party was done the grandkids all gathered around and pretty much destroyed the cake by playing with all of the figures and houses. It was pretty funny. Happy Brithday Brody.

Little Princess Birthday!

My little girl has been talking about her princess cake for months and was so excited for her birthday. We had just went to disneyland the week before so I wasn't really excited to make a cake but just seeing her dream about her cake made me a little more excited. I had a secret stash of barbies that I was saving for her birthday and decided to put them by the cake. I thought they were a little big and wasn't going to put them on but then my daughter caught me trying them out and fell in love with them! I told her we couldn't cut the cake and play with the barbies until we sang her happy birthday, so for 15 min she sat by her cake patiently and sang happy birthday to herself, hoping that would speed up the process. We had a good day and I can't believe she is 3! Happy Birthday Princess!

Valentine Goodies!

Well my sister and I get a little crazy around valentines and go all out on goodies. We love sugar cookies and we were going to let the kids help us but it ended up just the two of us frosting cookies. They were really yummy!

We made cupcakes for my wonderful Aunt Jeneece who loves to sample my mad baking skills! She needed them for her relief society party and they were really wonderful. The ones we made were:

Chocolatey cake with pink mint frosting, chocolate frosting and topped with a cream cheese mint heart.

Root beer float cupcake.

Almond Joy cupcake.

Strawberry cupcake with a creamy strawberry frosting.

They turned out really cute and everybody loved them!!

Cute little cake I did for a friend of a friend of a friend! She just wanted something simple so all I did was a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. Then I added some cute little blue flowers because her husband to be likes blue.

Mario Time

Happy Birthday to my crazy nephew. When I was talking to Stephen about his birthday cake we had a very detailed interview. I loved the look on his face everytime I mentioned a barbie cake for his party. He even wrote me a note that said no barbies!! So we decided on a Mario castle cake which was quite a process to even come to that conclusion. He even had stipulations of what I could put on the cake and what was not allowed. I have never had such a picky customer!! But it was worth it and he had a great cake for turning 7!!

This cake was just for fun. I saw one online and wanted to try it. My little girl thinks that it is for her so I guess it is. She is only 2 and loves to help me with the decorating of my cakes. She is almost too good of a helper.

This was for my little boys 5th birthday. He wanted a Toy Story cake and said he would like to have some of the characters sitting on Andy's bed. We had a fun party and it was a really good day. My little boy woke up early that morning and saw me make his cake. He was so excited and couldn't wait for the day to progress. This was the first year that he really knew when his birhtday was. He is counting down the days until his next birthday. Happy Birthday Buddy!
